Three Shot Sequences

In visual story telling like film or photography the artist gives you a visual of the place/landscape, the person/object, and a focus. The best way to do this is to use Three Shot Sequences. Three Shot Sequences is the technique film makers or photographers use to show you and explain what is happening, to get your interest and attention. A Three Shot Sequence usually works with wide, medium, and close shots. They do this to lead up to the action and explain more of a story in shorter time.

Though when you use the Three Shot Sequence technique you have to be careful not to make each shot to long in film. Each shot (wide, medium, and close) should be five seconds long. If it is longer people will lose interest. Three Shot Sequences should also start of with either the place/landscape or the a wide shot of the main subject. After you have your opening shot you will most likely take a medium shot of the person or object taking its action. Last you bet a close or a extreme close of what the person or object is really doing. For more information on Three Shot Sequences click on this link.
